leoma

Leonardo Macías (Leo Mass) is a musician and songwriter from Guayaquil who has developed his artistic career through various musical projects. He has experimented with the fusion of diverse genres of music such as: blues, country, rock, pop. He pays homage to the Ecuadorian jungle and its peoples through his lyrics and songs committed to the rights of Nature and because of his profound experience living with and learning to better understand the Kichwa culture of Sarayacu.

marujas

The shared message of “Las Marujitas” (in English, The Little Housewives) and the Fundación Pachamama regarding the Rights of Nature is: “To care for the earth, so that this generation and those to come are able to enjoy to the fullest their Well being”. Their work, “Housewives…how old to be green” presents a new side of these actresses and exhibits the problematic environment in which Ecuador and the world lives.

Their work begins with the apocalyptic nightmare of Abrilia, from Cuenca. The poor old woman wakes up in the middle of a black night after seeing the destruction of the planet in her dream. Finding herself alone, sad, and abandoned, she calls her friends from the Beneficiary Committee, Encarnación, from Manabi, and Cleta, from Quito. Cleta proposes that they take a trip to check on the state of nature in the country and to take measures to save it. Encarnación, the Manabita, is put in charge of piloting them through the sky, sea, and land with the help of a Hybrid.

yasuni

Amazonía for life, is a campaign that is trying to protect the Yasuní National Park in Ecuador, an area with the highest biodiversity in the world. This park has been declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and is home to several uncontacted indigenous peoples. The idea of maintaining the crude oil found in the park untapped and underground in exchange for an economic compensation presents one of the best forms to preserve the environmental and cultural richness found in the Yasuní. Fundación Pachamama supports this campaign and hopes that you will too. Accompany us!
