This is a good story

I'm a girl who is always on the search for a bargain, no matter if it is on books, clothes, or DVDs. I especially like looking for bargains on DVDs because movies are a nice way to bring the family together and have some down time together without having to get dressed up and go out or spend unnecessary amounts of money. Here are a couple of tips

Go to Discount Shops–whether it is Half Price Books or a mom and pop store (try Beth's Book Box if you're in the Pflugerville area) you can usually get blockbuster movies for half of the sells price if you don't mind getting it second hand. On one of my excursions to Half Price I managed to get both The 40-Year Old Virgin and White Chicks unrated at under $15. Pawn shops are also a good bet because you can get DVDs there sometimes at as low as $5. That is a good bargain no matter how you look at it. However keep in mind you're going to have to hunt because there will be a ton of copies of movies you don't want bulked together and you may accidentally gloss over one you really want.

Garage Sales–like the stores above you can sometimes find jewels hidden in the mounds of crap. You just have to be willing to drive around to find said garage sales and once you get them, hunt though everything else they're trying to get rid of. However, an added bonus is that usually people who have garage sales are just wanting to get rid of stuff so you may be able to strike up a bargain to get a certain number of DVDs for a set of price. If nothing else it's worth a try.

More than One DVD–you're seen them at stores like Wal-Mart or Target; you can get a certain amount of movies on one DVD or in one set for a decent price. For example, my sister got my father the Lethal Weapon movies for under $20 for Father's Day. I got my husband two Mel Brooks classics Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Spaceballs in one set no to mention Road Trip and Eurotrip on one DVD. There are a lot of good bargains at these places and you can end up getting a person more than one movie for less than half the price.

DVD Parties–this is a somewhat unconventional idea so bear with me. There are such things as “clothes” parties where a group of people (usually women) get together and trade clothes. Why not the same for DVDs? I know what you're thinking; if you have a DVD you usually want why give it away? But think in cases of if you move in with your significant other or get married and you have the same taste in movies. Then you're stuck with two copies of the same movie. Also sometimes you buy a movie because you hear such rave reviews about it and then find out you're not that crazy about it but can't sell it back (while Half Price is wonderful for buying, sometimes selling back is not so successful). This way you don't have to pay anything but you can get a fair trade.

On-line–I know you must beware when you buy on-line because you're usually buying it sight unseen but you can get some bargains at popular websites like E-bay, Amazon, or Half.com (which is a subsidiary of E-bay). You can browse to see what titles they have or what bargains they'll give you (sometimes at Amazon if you buy a certain amount you'll get free shipping or other perks) and while sometime people scam on-line, the people who sell on these websites like to have good reviews so they tend to be very careful about what they send out as products. If nothing else it can't hurt to look to see what kind of deals you can get.

Good luck with your bargain shopping!

There are many places available online to watch movies for free. Some places are completely free with a few ads here and there. Some places only let you watch half of the movie. Then there are some places that require you to purchase software in order to watch the movies. In this article, I will list the sites that are completely free. You can find just about any movie you are looking for at these sites. You can create an account with these websites, but it is not required.

Watch Movies – http://watch-movies.net/

This site is full of movies. There are no gimmicks to watching the movies. You simply click the movie you want to watch and you will be redirected to that movies page. On the movie page, you will see different boxes. You will need to find a box that says “Said Work”. Then click the link in that box to start your movie. The movie will open in a new window and will start playing. You have the option of viewing it in a full screen or the screen on the site.

Project Free TV – http://www.free-tv-video-online.info/internet/movies/

Project Free TV offers quite a bit of movies. They do not offer as much as Watch Movies, but they do have quite a bit. This site does not sort movies by genre. They simply have a list of movies. To watch a movie, you will need to click the name of the movie. On the next page, you will see the different files. You will need to select a file to view the movie. Most movies have three or four files on this site. So, when that file ends, you will have to click the next file to start the next part of the movie. Some may find that it is a little irritating, but the movies are free to watch.

Movies on Demand – http://movies-on-demand.tv/

This is a nicely organized site. You can view movies by genre, top ten, and more. There are quite a few ads on this site, but they don't really bother you. When trying to open the movie, they try to get you to purchase software, but you can click No Thanks and the movie will start playing.

The three sites above are great places to watch free movies online. Watch Movies is the best place that I have found. That is normally where I watch all of my movies. The site is nicely layed out and you can sort by genre. Anyone of the sites above are great for viewing movies. Some have more adds than others though.

Turning a twin bed into a day bed is an easy and inexpensive way to satisfy a child who wants a more grown up look in their bedroom. Turning a twin bed into a day bed is also perfect for a guest room that doubles as a home office.

Here are 3 easy and simply ways to turn a twin bed into a day bed on the cheap:

Twin Bed Turned Day Bed Idea #1: Wall Cushions

A fun way to turn a twin bed into a day bed is to take about 3 to 5 cushions or pillows. You will want to measure how long the bed is and make sure when your pillows are lined up they reach the length of the bed.

Now, install one grommet in the corner of each. Screw them into the wall in row to create a back to the bed to make it look like a couch. You can put throw pillows in front of them as well! This is a fun look for boys, girls, and adults.

Twin Bed Turned Day Bed Idea #2: Add Rails

So, most day bed have a foot board, headboard mad a side piece, which make them feel like a couch. You can add your own to get this fell in no time.

If you already have a headboard and foot board, then simply have a piece of wood cut to length and screw it along one side of the bed. Pre drill holes so you do not split any of the wood. This will create ea simple back to the bed that you can lien pillow up on.

Tip: Be sure to paint out the extra addition of wood to match the rest of the bed so it blends in and looks like one piece of furniture.

Twin Bed Turned Day Bed Idea #3: Corner Pillows

If you do not want to do any construction at all, then look for corer pillows. These are long pillows made to fit a 90 degree angle. You place one or two of these along one side of your day bed.

Make sure that the side of the bed is pressed up against the wall. These will provide the support for other pillows placed in front to look more like a couch.

Right in front of the corner pillow you want to stand up and create the couch look you want. Add some more accent pillows in front in a third row and you are finshed turning your twin bed into a day bed.

There are so many sports and activities for children to learn and participate in. Swimming lessons could be the most important lesson a child will learn. There are many different types of swimming lessons. There are classes through the city, the YMCA, private instructors and there are swim schools. I have tried many of them and the best place in the Phoenix area to take your child to learn to swim is definitely Hubbard Family Swim School in Phoenix, AZ. They are located at 13832 N. 32nd Street Phoenix, AZ 85032. This is just off of 32nd Street and Thunderbird Road. You can reach them at (602) 971-4044.

This is a wonderful swim school. They have two indoor pools that are heated to 90 degrees for year round swimming lessons. They use a Water Purification Miox System that is safer than high levels of chlorine yet still sanitary for the children. The class size is very small so each child gets a lot of one on one teaching and coaching. They have classes for ages six months and up from beginner to expert. They have a sitting area with glass windows for the parents to watch and observe their child learning. The facility is clean and well maintained. They also have a snack bar and a shop to buy swimming items at.

The instructors are very good with the children. They are positive and teach them the very important survival techniques and rules of swimming and water safety. All of the instructors are well trained and are certified swimming instructors. Even the small babies that take swimming lessons at the Hubbard Swim School do well and learn a lot. They are a member of the World Aquatic Babies Congress.

You can also plan to have your child’s next birthday party at the Hubbard Family Swim School. The children get to swim for one hour and twenty minutes and then you eat and have cake in the party room for the remainder. It’s a great place to have a party at and the children love it. You can plan parties year round since it is indoors!

The prices for Hubbard Family Swim School are worth it. They really do teach the children wonderful lessons that will help them throughout their life. The children learn well at this swim school. The prices are somewhat expensive. They average about $240-$260 for swim lessons that are about three and a half months long. The classes for the younger children are 30 minutes and one hour for the older children. They also have semi-private lessons from about $380 to $405. It all depends on how big of a class you want and the age of your child. They do have different payment options available too if you can’t afford to pay the whole amount up front.

During the summer they have a summer camp for the children. They swim and do other sports as well. They do volleyball, soccer, field sports and play games to keep the children active and busy while having fun. This is a great alternative to daycare because the children are learning through active sports and having a great time all summer. There are three locations in the valley where they have the summer camps. The three locations are Thunderbird Campus at 7410 East Sutton, Paradise Valley Campus 2401 East Cactus Road, and Sunnyslope High School – 35 West Dunlap Ave.

They also have open swimming and family nights on Friday evening. This is a great time to have fun and swim together as a whole family. This is a wonderful place to take your child to learn how to swim and learn valuable lifetime lessons. The children love to learn, have fun and make friends.

Hey here's a post that talks about DVD Storage for you to read DVD Storage Furniture

Adding a DVD player to your car is a great way to customize the interior of your vehicle, as well as provide entertainment for those long road trips. However, since the car DVD player market is saturated with a wide arrange of products, it can be a difficult task trying to find a player that will work perfect for your car and viewing habits. Below is a guide that will help you choose the perfect DVD player for your car.

Perhaps the most important step in finding the perfect DVD player for your car is to simply talk to your friends or family members that have DVD players in their cars. Ask them what type of player they have and what the benefits and drawbacks are. If they are unsatisfied with their DVD player, ask them why and the same is for if they love their DVD player. Because your friends and family will tell you the truth about a product, you will be able to trust their opinion.

Since certain DVD players only work in certain types of cars, figure out what DVD players will work with your vehicle. There are also many universal DVD players that can easily fit in any type of vehicle. You will want to begin your search by looking at the various price ranges for automobile DVD players and what features come in different price ranges. Once you have a budget narrowed down, you will be able to find a DVD player quicker because it will limit the amount of possible products.

The next step you will need to take is to visit your local electronics retail stores. Most of these stores will carry car DVD players, and will allow you to choose between various features and accessories. Since the majority of DVD players each come with unique operational features and functions, it is important to talk with a professional about their selection.

There are many DVD players that can fit within the console of your vehicle. This will provide you with a unique and customized look, and will actually add value to your vehicle when you plan on selling it. You can find these types of DVD players for an average price of around $500, plus installation. However, these DVD players will not fit in every type of car, so you will need to have a professional take a look at your vehicle and make sure there is a model that will fit your car.

The Obvious

1. Driving Record – Your previous driving record is probably the biggest factor in your car insurance premiums.

2. Claim History – Your claim history as it relates to accidents or comprehensive claims in the past is another big factor in deciding your premium.

3. Type of Car – Of course, if you drive a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with $30,000 worth of customization and no alarm system, your premium will be higher than if you drive a 2000 Ford Focus without any customization and a factory anti-theft device.

4. Your Age – Your age is a factor, and it is not discrimination. The older you become, the more driving experience you have. This is why they ask you the age when you were first licensed.

5. Coverage – Do you want the state minimum? Do you want to fully protect yourself in any possible situation that can be imagined by mankind? The more coverage you select, the higher your premium.

6. Deductibles – The higher your deductible, the lower your rate. The deductible is the amount you are responsible to pay in the event of a future claim. Low deductibles mean less out of pocket for you if you ever have an accident, but more out of pocket each month.

The Not So Obvious

1. Your Zip Code – Insurance premiums are partially based on your zip code. If you live in a high traffic area, such as New York City, you will pay a higher rate than if you live on top of a mountain in a town with a population of 100, like mine.

2. Your Credit – Most insurance companies view your credit history. Having no credit or poor credit puts you in a higher premium bracket.

3. Occupation – If you drive far to work, or drive for your job, you will pay a higher premium. The more you drive, the more likely you are to have an accident or other claim.

4. Coverage – How long have you been continuously covered by car insurance? Long gaps between policies may lead you to a higher rate.

5. Multiple Vehicles – Do you buy a car and drive it for a few months, then trade it in or buy another car? Dropping insurance coverage on one car and adding another one too often could increase your rates.

May Not Be Your Fault

1. Your Car – Again, your model of car and other people affect your rate. If your choice of vehicle has a high theft rate, you will pay more for your insurance premiums.

2. DUI Rate – The DUI rate in the county in which you live could affect your rate. The higher the rate, the higher your premiums.

3. Other People's Accidents – If your particular make and model of car has been involved in a high number of accidents with other drivers, your premium could go up.

4. More About Other People's Accidents – If your city or county has a high vehicular accident rate, you could pay higher premiums.

Other factors that are considered could be your cities vandalism rate, or overall crime rate. This could be calculated by county rather than city, depending on the insurance company and your state.

A story that was good to read.

Noviembre 20th, 2009 by josephdudley1988

You see the advertisements everywhere; in the local paper, taped to store windows, bulletin boards and written in black marker on giant poster board, tacked onto utility poles on street corners in any given town in America. “FREE PUPPIES”. Those cuddly bundles of fur-faced innocence that carry the implied promise of undying loyalty and affection. But what are you really getting into? Is that puppy really free? Before you give in to the impulse to take home that free puppy, you may want to count the cost.

Your' new puppy will require several things in order to grow into a happy, healthy adult dog. First, your' new friend will need puppy shots at an average cost of $26.00. He or she will also need heartworm testing and preventative at a starting cost of $25.00 on up, depending on weight. There will be a rabies vaccine for $11.50 and flea and tick prevention starting at $42.00 for a three month course for a small dog, with the cost going higher for medium to large breed dogs. You will also need to spay or neuter your' puppy at an average cost of $57.00 to $70.00.

Now you need food and food bowls that will cost between $20.00 to $45.00 and don't forget the collar and leash for another $15.00 to $20.00. By the way, a city license runs $7.00 to $25.00 depending on where you live.

Are you going to crate train your puppy or buy him a dog house? Either way, you'll pay up to $150.00. Do you rent your' home? You may have to pay a pet deposit at an average of $200.00. Will you have your' new puppy groomed for an average of $40.00 to $75.00? Don't forget those chew toys to save your' furniture for another $5.00 to $20.00.

After all is said and done, that free puppy has cost you $709.50. So much for free. Another thing that you may want to consider is that with the majority of give away puppies, you simply do not know the bloodlines of the animal, making it impossible to know beforehand of any special health risks within that particular line, which down the road, can cost a great deal of time, money and heartache.

Consider all of these things the next time that you are tempted to stop and pick out a free puppy. In the end, “free” may cost you more than you bargained for.

Healthy Fitness for Kids Like Mine

SPRING Into Action

Parents play a significant part in their child's lives, especially in the early years. It is the job of every parent to teach the important lessons of life and healthy fitness is definitely one of them!

Building good habits early increase the chances of a healthier, active adulthood!

But it is not always easy. You must be ready to face failures and acknowledge success. You must be patient, supportive and flexible. You must Spring into Action against inactivity!

“Shift Gears”
One of the biggest reasons the average 9-12 year old drops out of organized sports? They can't keep up with the physically gifted – you know, those athletic kids with amazing natural talent?

All kids develop at different rates. Just because your child isn't considered “gifted” in a particular sport doesn't mean he/she can't be physically fit!

Constant competition resulting in repeated failure or serious mismatching of skills on organized teams can seriously discourage not-so-athletic kids from being active at all!

At this age, the basic rules of a sport are understood. This is when competition comes into play and with it, excessive demands and performance pressures. Serious drilling and emphasis on a winning team often leads these children to simply give up!

But don't despair! It may call for you to be more creative and shift gears. So your child isn't interested in organized sports? There are plenty of things to do, like going for a walk or a bike ride after dinner. How about grabbing a jump rope or having a catch? Try skating or horseback riding. Even things like bowling or a friendly game of ping-pong can increase overall fitness.

Use your imagination – ask your kids – anything that gets them off the couch and in motion is a good thing! Let them see being active is fun. Shift from being the best at a particular activity to just plain having fun – don't let kids slide because they are inept at organized sports!

“Parental Involvement”
Parents often find themselves in a definite pickle, so to speak. Kids may resist your attempts at increasing their activity level! The best thing to do is lead by example. Sure, it's easy to put off exercising – as adults, we are constantly juggling time between work and family – prioritizing all the time. And let's face it, grabbing a hamburger on the way home is definitely easier than cooking a healthy meal after working all day, but making time to improve your own health will improve that of your child.

Let your child see your commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Emphasize more activity, not consistent sedentary pastimes. Take an active role and join in – take a special course together like karate or tai chi. Not only does this increase both of your activity levels, it provides some quality “together time”.

Offer some type of reward for fitness goals you set, such as an increase in allowance, having a friend sleep over or going on a special trip. Go to a movie or pick a special food at mealtime – even something as simple as allowing an extended curfew or allowing him/her to skip their daily chores for a day can increase their willing participation in a more active lifestyle.

“Regulate Activities”
All kids need parental guidance for their safety as well as their overall well-being. Regulate “couch potato” activities, such as watching TV or playing video games.

Set aside time for physical activity. Make fitness goals and acknowledge successes.

Make a list of activities so kids still have freedom to choice.

And don't get caught up in the rules and regulations of a game – the goal here is to have fun and get moving!

“Increase Overall Activity”
By increasing activity a mere few minutes per day may decrease your risk of health-related problems and increase life expectancy.

By making time to play, you are making time for health. Make time to be more active or at least avoid inactivity and you will be rewarded with a healthier, happier child.

“Nutrition”
It is imperative to watch kid's diet. After all, kids are still developing. You don't have to deny all “unhealthy” choices – they are okay, but on a limited basis. Instead, create healthy alternatives with an occasional indulgence.

Don't get sucked into “fad diets”. Kids have nutritional requirements for proper growth and development – don't skimp on the important dietary needs.

Need help? Seek professional advice – a nutrition expert or your physician, even the school nurse can help assure your child is getting adequate sustenance for healthy growth.

“Group Involvement”
Group involvement does not always mean organized sports teams. For the “non-athletic” child, organized sports may hamper instead of inspire. Instead, get some friends together and have a friendly game of volleyball or baseball. Try a fitness class like aerobics or karate. Make an obstacle course. Make it fun – make it age-appropriate – make it active!
